Audi in the 2009 DTMThird title in a row is the aim

As the title defender, Audi starts to the 2009 DTM season with an unchanged lineup of nine “factory” drivers and a version of the A4 DTM which has been subjected to further development. The squad’s aim is to clinch the title of the touring car championship that is being staged in five European countries for the third time in a row.

With a proven team and technology that has been improved yet again, Audi is aiming to defend its historic result from last year in the 2009 season: In the brand’s – up to now – most successful motorsport season, Audi successfully defended the DTM title for the first time since 1991. On his way to achieving the feat of winning the championship in 2008, Timo Scheider clinched three single victories, while Mattias Ekström contributed three further exploits. In addition, the brand’s track record reflects eight pole positions. The new Audi A4 DTM in its début season has thus been the most successful generation of an Audi DTM race touring car based on the A4 model to date.
