Exclusive chauffeur service at the World Economic Forum 2007

Since 1987, Audi has provided an exclusive chauffeur service for the annual conference of the “World Economic Forum” in Davos. In 2007, the economic experts and politicians from all around the world are being taken from place to place with some very special fuel in the car tank. Ten out of the eighty A8 4.2 TDI models draw their energy from SynFuel, a new type of synthetic fuel.

SynFuel - fuel of the future

SynFuel is liquid and is based on natural gas. The crystal-clear fuel burns so cleanly that there is virtually no sulphur dioxide produced, and no aromatics. In addition to which the formation of soot is reduced by 35 %. And toxic carbon monoxide emissions are also down by 93 %.

A step towards sustainable mobility

SynFuel is the result of intensive research work together with the oil manufacturer Shell. The synthetic fuel has similar physical properties to petrol and diesel. A practical feature: SynFuel can be used in any Audi diesel vehicle – without any technical modifications.
