The Audi A4 underwent its actual model facelift in 1999. The engineers took this opportunity to fine-tune the suspension and the reinforcement of the bodywork. The electronic stabilisation program (ESP) also made its debut appearance in the mid-sized Audi range, promising even greater driving pleasure with its superior directional stability. The standard Audi A4 was flanked by two out-and-out sporty models: the Audi S4 and the RS 4 Avant. Their extra-dynamic looks and racy outputs of 265 and 380 bhp clearly set them apart from their series-produced sibling.
