Dr. rer. pol. Werner Widuckel was born on 23 October 1958 in Salzgitter.
After graduating from secondary school in 1977 in Wolfsburg, Widuckel worked in Production at Volkswagen in Wolfsburg before commencing his studies in Social Sciences at the University of Göttingen in 1979. He graduated in Social Management in 1984. He then worked as a research assistant at the Sociological Seminar of the University of Göttingen. He took his doctorate (Dr. rer. pol.) at the Technical University of Braunschweig in 2003.
Widuckel started his career in 1985 as advisor to the General and Group Works Council of Volkswagen AG. In 1991 he became Chief Coordinator of the European Group Works Council, the International Group Works Council and the General and Group Works Council of Volkswagen AG.
From 2005 on, Widuckel was Head of "Personnel Policy and Fundamental Issues" within the Human Resources Department at AUDI AG in Ingolstadt.
Dr. Werner Widuckel has been Member of the Board of Management of AUDI AG, responsible for Human Resources, since 8 December 2005.
