Audi Ingolstadt

The Audi plant in Ingolstadt is not only home to the Group head office of AUDI AG, it is also the company's largest production facility. The Audi A3, A3 Sportback, Audi S4, Audi A4 and Audi A4 Avant models are all currently built at the Ingolstadt plant. The TT Coupé and the TT Roadster bodies are also built and painted here. The Ingolstadt plant site covers an area of around two million square metres.

The plant attracts people from all over the world, with employees from 72 countries currently working at Audi. At the beginning of the year, the number of employees totalled 31,337, 19,995 of whom were blue-collar workers, 9,903 white-collar staff and 1,439 apprentices.

The past and the present of the Audi brand converge at the Audi Forum Ingolstadt. The museum mobile, the Customer Center with the car collection area and the "Market and Customer" building are situated around the open architecture of the Piazza.

Audi Neckarsulm

The workforce at the Neckarsulm plant, the second mainstay of the Audi brand in Germany, is also made up of people of many nationalities, with a total of 48 countries being represented here. With 13,633 employees (as at the end of 2005), Audi is the largest employer in the Heilbronn-Franconia region. 10,348 blue-collar workers, 2,488 white-collar staff and 797 apprentices work at the Neckarsulm plant.

The Audi A6 saloon, the Audi A6 Avant, the allroad quattro and the Audi A8 are built at the Neckarsulm location.

The plant site covers an area of around one million square metres. In recent years, the plant has attracted numerous suppliers to set up operation in its vicinity: the Bad Friedrichshall industrial park was opened in 1996 and was extended in 2003, when a fourth building was added. The Logistics Centre at Offenau was opened in 1999. Around 2,000 new jobs have thus been created in the region since 1995.

The Aluminium and Lightweight Design Centre, which developed the Audi Space Frame (ASF) for the Audi A8 and the Lamborghini Gallardo, has become renowned all over the world. The latest highlight in the development of diesel and sports engines is the 12-cylinder diesel engine for use in motor sport.
