The AUDI AG music festivalAt its own festival, the Summer Concerts, AUDI AG does not act as a sponsor in the traditional sense, but as the organiser. The Summer Concerts were inaugurated in 1990 in order to enrich the cultural life of the Ingolstadt production location. They became firmly established in the region in a matter of years and soon attracted great attention further afield. Today they are among the most successful festivals of all. Festival of starsEvery year, visitors to the Summer Concerts are treated to a high-calibre programme featuring a star-studded line-up. Great conductors such as Sir Simon Rattle, Zubin Mehta and Nikolaus Harnoncourt, leading soloists such as Anne-Sophie Mutter, Giora Feidman and Lang Lang and renowned ensembles from all over the world captivate audiences over the summer weeks. An innovative and progressive programmeIn recent years, the programme of the Summer Concerts has focused more strongly on innovative ideas. With progressive artists, unusual concert venues and unconventional programmes at the Summer Concerts, AUDI AG is concentrating on the future in cultural terms, too.
In the 2007 season, the Summer Concerts featured a highly varied programme with “Modern Tonality” as its motto. Visitors were able to enjoy 25 spectacular concerts between 5 July and 6 August.
