The customer racing racecar in all its versions joined the grid to compete in more than 220 single races at venues in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Portugal, Russia, Spain, Sweden, the Slovakian Republic, the United Arab Emirates and in the USA. As a result, the Audi R8 LMS/ultra is represented in all the important GT3 championships around the globe. In addition to this commercial milestone, Audi Sport customer racing can also savor the sporting success of its customers’ programs. The number of championship titles won increased last year by five to 18. Team Novadriver won four championships on the Iberian Peninsula, while the Belgian Audi Club Team WRT successfully defended the Blancpain Endurance Series crown. On top of these five championships comes a Champion in Audi’s first ever one-make cup: Marchy Lee won the R8 LMS Cup in China. Four big endurance race victories round-off the 2012 season’s balance: the Audi R8 was just as successful at the 12 hours of Bathurst as it was in the 24-hour races at Spa, at the Nürburgring and at Zolder. Customers predominantly running privateer programs in Europe, Asia and Australia, go on the hunt for points with the R8 LMS ultra in 2013. Individual teams contesting the 24-hour races at the Nürburgring and Spa enjoy factory support.
