The race track located in the middle of the Belgium Ardennes is a genuine uphill and down dale circuit. It was designed in the 1920s by an aristocrat from Liege and quite rightly bears the nickname ‘Ardennes roller-coaster’. With its extremely different corners, from ultra fast to very tight, an altitude difference of about 100 meters and the unpredictable weather the Circuit Spa-Francorchamps, as it is officially called, is regarded as real challenge for every driver. ‘Eau Rouge’, which is located in a depression, is one of the world’s most famous corners and is still regarded today by the drivers as corner needing courage. Another peculiarity about the circuit is that it has two start and finish straights with the corresponding corners. “Spa is my favorite track in Europe,” raves Romain Dumas.
