The second generation of the success model Audi 80 was presented in Nuremburg on 30 August 1978. Designer Giugiaro was responsible for the elegant body form.
On the basic model of the Audi 80, a 1,300 cc engine provided for a moderate performance – 55 hp took the saloon to a speed of 145 km/h. Like its predecessor, the Audi 80 became a huge success. In eight years of production, more than 1.3 million vehicles of this model were built.
