The second generation of the success model Audi 80 was presented in Nuremburg on 30 August 1978. Designer Giugiaro was responsible for the elegant body form.
Until the autumn of 1981, the top equipment version was the Audi 80 GLS. The GLS was only available with two different 75 hp 1.6-litre 4-cylinder engines and was succeeded by the Audi 80 CD in the autumn of 1981.
