AUDI AG - The plant in the heart of the German State of Bavaria, is not only the biggest production facility of AUDI AG, but also home to its head offices and Technical Development division. The Audi A3, A4, A5 and Q5 model series, together with their respective derivatives, are produced at the site in Ingolstadt. The Audi TT Coupé, TT Roadster, the corresponding TTS and TT RS models as well as the Audi A3 Cabriolet and the RS 3 Sportback pass through the body shop and the paint shop.
Apart from the Technical Development division, Production with press shop, body shop, paint shop and assembly is also located at the Ingolstadt site. Also to be found at this location is the Audi Training Department, which offers training and continued professional development for our employees. Last year, 583,824 cars left the production line at the company headquarters.
With 33,729 employees, Audi is the region’s biggest employer. AUDI AG contracted more than 1,300 experts in 2011, primarily in the future-oriented fields of electric mobility and lightweight construction. And the company is still growing − 2,000 additional experts will be employed in Germany alone in 2012.
The Audi Forum Ingolstadt, which attracts more than 500,000 visitors from all over the world each year, offers its guests interesting insights into the world of the four rings. The Audi Forum features highly modern architecture; it delights visitors with its gastronomy and a diverse range of cultural events. The Audi museum mobile, where historic exhibits and contemporary presentation methods tell the story of more than one hundred years of the history of the Audi brand, is also located close by.
A guided tour of the plant, which takes place in the production facility at the premium manufacturer, is a very special experience. Visitors follow the entire production workflow of an Audi at close hand and learn interesting facts about the company’s innovative production know-how.
