High-tech siteAUDI HUNGARIA MOTOR Kft.

With the foundation of AUDI HUNGARIA MOTOR Kft. back in 1993, the starting signal was given for the construction of one of the world's most modern high-tech plants. After close consideration, Audi chose the location of Győr in Hungary. Components are transported between Győr and Ingolstadt by rail for environmental reasons.

Engine production and vehicle assembly

The success story of the Győr plant in Hungary began in October 1994, when the first four-cylinder five-valve engines rolled off its production line. After three further expansions, Győr now builds virtually the full range of Audi engines.

At its approximately 35,000 sqm facility, it has also been assembling the Coupé and Roadster versions of the Audi TT since 1999. More than 400,000 vehicles have left the assembly line in Győr since 1998.

Since November 2007 the Hungarian plant has also been building the new Audi A3 Cabriolet on behalf of AUDI AG. The location gained in importance with the opening of the new Technical Centre, featuring a design department, engine test bed and workshops. The early part of 2012 saw the Hungarian company celebrate the topping-out ceremony for the new auto plant, where a further model of the A3 car line will be built from mid of 2013.
