In order to restructure the image of Audi Sales in Japan and to do justice to the exclusiveness of a premium brand, Audi set up its own import company, Audi Japan K.K., in 2000.
As a premium brand Audi requires an exclusive image on the Japanese market, too. In addition to setting up its own import company, Audi Japan K.K., a considerable amount was invested in developing an exclusive dealer network with an image in line with the brand requirements. The Audi Japan K.K. headquarters in Tokyo is the flagship of this new dealer network.
The setting up of a joint sales company with the Japanese business group Yanase & Co. Ltd., known as a premium supplier, means that the Audi dealerships are mainly directly operated.
