The meeting of the world’s best female golfers in Germany is again presented by Audi this year. As Presenting Sponsor of the UniCredit Ladies German Open, Audi equips the shuttle fleet and makes an A5 Cabriolet and an R8 Spyder available as prizes for the best lady golfers. The tournament will be held at Gut Häusern on the outskirts of Munich from May 24 to 27.
In 2011, the German visit of the Ladies European Tour (LET) met all expectations by featuring a high-caliber field, thrilling duels on the green and an attractive supporting program. A total of 126 players, including six amateurs, fought for victory at the tournament that was attended by a total of 31,450 spectators and endowed with a record 350,000 euros in prize money.
After a few thrilling days Diana Luna commandingly prevailed. She drove home to Italy in an A5 Cabriolet which Audi made available as a prize for the winner. The R8 Spyder that could have been won for striking a “hole-in-one” at hole 15 though went back to Ingolstadt – the hole-in-one feat was not achieved by any of the international participants in 2011 either.
For Audi, it marked as much as the fourth year as Presenting Sponsor and vehicle partner of the most important German ladies’ golf tournament. Besides sponsoring the prizes and equipping the shuttle fleet, Audi provided insights into its model range at Gut Häusern. Showcased for the first time there was the new SUV Q3 that attracted the attention of spectators and golfers alike at the Audi Golf Terminal. As early as on Monday Audi had rung in the tournament week by handing over ten Audi A3 Cabriolets to selected lady golfers. Other highlights of Audi’s commitment at the tournament were the “Audi Star Talk” aired from the clubhouse on Tuesday with guests Sandra Gal and Oliver Kahn and the ProAm tournament with celebrity guests such as Uli Hoeneß and Karl-Heinz Riedle.
