When the medals are handed out at the FIS Alpine Ski World Championships, AUDI AG is right there as the presenting sponsor.
Schladming in the Steiermark will be the location for the Alpine World Ski Championships in 2013. This will be the fifth time for Audi as a partner at the World Championships. As in the World Cup, the four rings will feature prominently on the starting gate and along the course.
Together with neighbouring Haus im Ennstal, Schladming was host of the World Championship in 1982. This time, in contrast, the battles for the title will take place exclusively on the Planai in Schladming. The award of the event to Schladming ends up a series of five outside of Austria. St. Anton was the most recent host to the World Championships in the Alpine republic.
Audi and the World Ski Championships – this partnership has a long history: Audi held the role of presenting sponsor of the Alpine World Ski Championships in St. Moritz (Switzerland) in 2003, in Bormio (Italy) in 2005, in Val d’Isère (France) in 2009 and in Garmisch-Partenkirchen in 2011, delivering a wide-ranging programme. In Åre (Sweden) Audi supported the 2007 Alpine World Ski Championships as the vehicle sponsor. Winter sports are an ideal platform to demonstrate the innovations, dynamism and sporting flair of the Audi brand.
The brand’s involvement extends significantly further than the role of a sponsor: Audi brings the fascination of Alpine skiing to the spectators through numerous attractions on and off piste, which include interviews with the stars or meeting points for fans and athletes.
