Golden Steering Wheel for the Audi A3
The Audi A3 has won the Golden Steering Wheel in the compact class. Yesterday evening Rupert Stadler, Chairman of the Board of Management of AUDI AG, accepted the most important European automobile award in front of around 300 guests from business, politics and the media in Berlin. This year the jury was also able to put the 20 finalists through their paces on a closed test circuit. The midsize model from Ingolstadt, which consistently follows the principle of lightweight construction, was able to win over the jury and claim the top spot in the category. It is the 22. Eight red dot awards for the four rings
On behalf of the Design Center of North Rhine-Westphalia, a jury of experts has awarded first place to AUDI AG in no less than eight categories. In addition to its print campaign, the Audi configurator app was recognized in the newly created “Mobile & Apps” category. In addition, the coveted “red dot: best of the best” award went to the Ingolstadt company: The Audi stand at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show received this prize for innovative design of its exhibition area. All of the winning Audi works can be viewed in the “international yearbook of communication design 2012/2013” (October 24, 2012).

2013 German Design Award for the Audi A3
The Audi A3 has won Germany’s most prestigious design prize in the “Transportation and Public Space” category. Jurors of the 2013 German Design Awards were especially impressed by its unpretentious design language that utilizes just a few highly precise lines. Audi wants to pursue this design philosophy with even greater focus in the future. Head of Audi Design Wolfgang Egger: “A concentrated design language is the best one. It is a matter of using fewer lines and details, but structuring them more precisely to generate maximum emotionality” (October 31, 2012).

Audi wins Mexican JD Power Award
This is already the second time that Audi has won the JD Power de Mexico award in the segment of premium automobiles, where it earned two of the three possible awards. The A1 and A5 models each received top rating points in their respective categories. The award is based on the Mexico Vehicle Ownership Satisfaction Study (MVOSS), which examined customer satisfaction with product quality and service. Over 5,000 customers were surveyed who had purchased a new vehicle between 2010 and 2012. Audi was the only European carmaker to make such an impression (October 31, 2012).

“Golden Classic Steering Wheels” for the Audi A1 and Q3
24,906 readers of “Autobild Klassik” magazine took part in this year’s voting for the “Golden Classic Steering Wheel” awards and elected two Audi models as top cars in the “Future Classics” category. The Audi A1 won in the segment of small cars & compacts with 6,452 votes. The Audi Q3 impressed readers with 7,440 positive votes in the group of SUVs. Another prize - for the “Find of the Year” - was accepted by Thomas Frank, Head of Audi Tradition, together with Bernhard Kandow, CEO of Volkswagen Classic Parts. Employees of the two departments discovered a warehouse in Paraguay containing around 3,000 replacement parts for historic Audi and VW models (October 16, 2012).

Audi A4 allroad is named Active Lifestyle Vehicle of the Year
The Audi A4 allroad has earned the “Active Lifestyle Vehicle Award 2013” in the “Luxury On-Road” category. The jury was made up of key US automotive journalists and 70 of the country’s top athletes. Along with the vehicle’s off-road performance and styling, this award focuses on properties that support the sporty lifestyles of athletes in their everyday activities. Criteria included how well a bicycle can be stowed in the vehicle and how easily the seat cushions can be cleaned (October 20, 2012).

Thatcham recognizes six Audi models for exemplary anti-theft system
Six new Audi models attained the highest rating of five stars in the “2012 British Insurance Vehicle Security Awards” and thus confirmed their roles as favorites in their segment. For the first time, the anti-theft security system of the Audi Q3 was recognized with an award in the “Compact SUV” category. The A1 also earned top honors, as did the new generations of the Audi A4, A5, Q5 and A8 W12 L (October 11, 2012).
