Audi in Brussels
AUDI BRUSSELS S.A./N.V. - Important role within the Audi Group: when volume production of the Audi A1 started in May 2010, the Brussels plant assumed the lead role in building its very own model – the first time the plant had done so in over 60 years in existence.
Audi has acquired an ideal European production site in taking on AUDI BRUSSELS S.A./N.V, enabling the company to efficiently produce compact automobiles and to add further momentum to its growth. The daily capacity exclusively for building the Audi A1 is up to 520 units. In 2011, AUDI AG delivered some 118,200 units of A1 to customers – assembled by 2,400 highly qualified and motivated employees.
The production plant, including body shop, paint shop and assembly line, covers a site of 540,000 m2 and is located in the south-west of the capital city’s region. A total of some EUR 300 million have been invested in equipment and infrastructure so far. Further investments are planned in the coming years.
