Futuristic design and advanced technology – Audi designers have developed their first-ever purely virtual car for a cinema film. The Audi fleet shuttle quattro can be seen in the major motion picture “Ender’s Game”.
Advanced, highly technological and green: that describes planet Earth in the science fiction film “Ender’s Game”. The Audi fleet shuttle quattro blends seamlessly into this time and its environment. It is futuristic, progressive – and the first virtual film model from Audi.
Together with Studio Summit Entertainment, Audi designers developed the Audi fleet shuttle quattro especially for “Ender’s Game”. “A film project is always an exciting challenge. This is especially true for the Audi fleet shuttle quattro, since it was created on the computer to be purely virtual,” explained Frank Rimili, chief designer for the film project.
The adventure film “Ender’s Game” is based on the award-winning, bestselling novel of the same name. It was directed by Gavin Hood, who also wrote the screenplay. The leading roles are played by Asa Butterfield, Hailee Steinfeld, Ben Kingsley, Viola Davis, Abigail Breslin and Harrison Ford. In the near future, the Earth is attacked by enemy aliens. In preparation for the next attack, the people of Earth begin to train the best students in order to find their future leader among them. Ender Wiggin, a shy but brilliant boy, is taken out of school to become one of the elite. He is quickly selected as the new great hope for the military and will lead his fellow comrades in an epic battle that will determine the fate of the Earth.
The Audi fleet shuttle quattro exhibits the company’s “Vorsprung durch Technik” philosophy even in the realm of fiction and therefore fits perfectly with the action in the film. Florian Zitzlsperger, Head of Brand Marketing at Audi, put it this way: “The Audi in the film represents progress and it appears in particularly key scenes that have a lasting impact on the life of the protagonist.”
