AUDI HUNGARIA MOTOR Kft. - At the Hungarian plant in Győr, engines for AUDI AG and other companies of the Volkswagen Group are developed and manufactured. In partnership with the Ingolstadt plant it also assembles the Audi TT Coupé and Roadster, the Audi A3 Cabriolet and the RS 3 Sportback.
The founding of AUDI HUNGARIA MOTOR Kft. in 1993 marked the start of construction work on one of the world’s most modern high-tech plants. The company has since developed into one of the country’s major exporters and highest-revenue businesses. In 2011, Audi Hungaria produced a total of 1,883,757 engines and 39,518 cars with 7,322 employees.
Laying the foundation stone for the plant’s expansion can be considered as a highlight of the year 2011. The company will invest over EUR 900 million for this purpose by the end of 2013. Existing engine and automobile production facilities will be expanded to a manufacturing site with a comprehensive production chain. By expanding the plant, Audi will create 2,100 new jobs at the Györ site.
Midway between Vienna and Budapest, Györ lies on the banks of the Danube which covers a site of 3,700,000 m2. It enjoys a favorable geographical location, close to the point where Hungary, Slovakia and Austria all meet.
