Audi in Aurangabad
ŠKODA AUTO INDIA PVT, LTD. - Important step towards a successful future: In entering the market and building cars locally in India, Audi is making a long-term investment in one of the most promising car markets in the world. Employees at the plant assemble the Audi A4, the new A6 and the Q5.
Since September 2007, AUDI AG has been producing vehicles at the Aurangabad site at the plant Škoda Auto India Private Limited (SAIPL) for the local Indian market. A total of 4,674 Audi vehicles were built at Aurangabad in 2011. The Aurangabad site currently employs around 140 workers for the production of the Audi models and in related areas. A total of 1,300 people work at the Škoda Auto India Private Limited plant in Aurangabad.
In addition to the exclusive Audi production, consistent development and expansion of the sales and dealership structure are also key factors in the company’s growing presence in the Indian market. At present, there exist fifteen exclusive Audi dealerships. Audi will expand its dealership network to 23 locations by the end of 2012. Audi has been represented in the Indian market for over four years now. In spring 2007, a separate sales corporation with its head offices in Mumbai was opened to control all Indian market activities.
Aurangabad is located in the state of Maharashtra in the west of India.
