Formula Student Germany

The Formula Student Germany is an international engineering competition that allows students interested in engineering to design and build a single-seater formula racing car before finally putting it through its paces on the racetrack at the Hockenheimring.

Formula Student Germany 2017

Formula Student Combustion and Formula Student Electric have been run in parallel since 2010 as two competitions within the framework of Formula Student Germany. The Formula Student Driverless competition was added to these races in 2017. Teams of students from numerous worldwide universities compete against each other at the FSG competition. Student teams from many universities worldwide compete with each other. In addition to the points that the vehicles win on the racetrack, a jury made up of experts from motorsport, the automotive and supplier industry also rate the teams’ design, cost budget and sales presentations.

Representatives from various Audi departments take part directly in the competition as jurors. While they do assess the work of the teams, they are also on hand to discuss issues with interested parties.

This year the Formula Student Germany is held from 8 - 13 August 2017 (from 9 August public visitor days) at the Hockenheimring.
