VOLKSWAGEN SLOVAKIA, a.s. - AUDI AG builds its premium Audi Q7 model in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia. The performance SUV is assembled from its many component parts at the state-of-the-art plant owned by Volkswagen Slovakia.
Production of the Audi Q7 in Bratislava began in late 2005. The manufacturing of the Q7 is evidence of genuine teamwork within the Audi production network. The body elements come from Audi’s German factories in Ingolstadt and Neckarsulm; all engines for the Q7 are supplied by Audi’s engine manufacturing plant in Győr, Hungary. More than 2,200 employees manufacture this sports utility vehicle from a large number of individual components in the factory at Volkswagen Slovakia. In 2011, a total of 53,707 Q7 were manufactured.
Bratislava is in the far south-west corner of Slovakia and is as the capital the biggest city in the country. The city enjoys an exceptionally advantageous location, being the only capital city in the world to be situated bordering two other countries – Austria and Hungary.
In total, the plant of Volkswagen Slovakia has produced 210,441 cars and counted 8,400 employees in 2011.
