NSU Prinz 4, 1962

NSU launched a car with a completely new body form as the successor to the Prinz I to III. In 1960, initial trials started with a car bearing the internal designation "model 47". In June 1961 the vehicle was presented as the Prinz 4. The NSU advertising slogan "Drive a Prinz and be a king" was known all across Germany. In the spring of 1970, the 500,000th Prinz 4 rolled off the line. Italy was the main export market for this car. By 31 July 1973, the final day of Prinz production, 625,171 Prinz 4 vehicles had been built. With it, a piece of compact car history came to an end.
