“Rocky” is back

In 2010, Mike Rockenfeller fulfilled a personal dream with the triumph at the famous 24 Hours of Le Mans at the wheel of the Audi R15 TDI. In the DTM, he made his breakthrough in 2013 with his first championship title. In Audi Sport, ‘Rocky’ found the perfect environment to be successful. In 2017, ‘Rocky’ bounced back and delivered strong performances, including one race victory at Zandvoort. Rockenfeller’s comeback at Moscow Raceway was remarkable, when he stood on the podium with a broken foot, only twenty days after being injured in a heavy crash at the Norisring.

“As far as the races go, we were doing really well. I won once and was on podium a few times,” said Rockenfeller. “That in the end it wasn’t enough to finish at the far front was due to the less than perfect qualifying results.”
