The Spaniard Mikel Azcona celebrated his third victory of the season at the fourth round of the Audi Sport TT Cup. On Sunday, he prevailed over Philip Ellis, who remains the table leader.
Ellis maintains table lead

Tommaso Mosca also caused a stir. The Italian started from first on the grid and held the lead for nine laps. After his tyres started to degrade, he was eventually beaten by the pressure from Mikel Azcona and fell back to fifth place. Philip Ellis crossed the finish line as the best pursuer of the Spaniard just 0.8 seconds behind. In doing so, he has maintained his table lead of 33 points. Ellis and Azcona remain the only drivers to have won this year.

Spectacular race

The numerous overtaking manoeuvres throughout the field provided an entertaining race on Sunday. Fabian Vettel fought his way forwards from ninth and had the podium in his sights when he fell back due to a technical problem. Drew Ridge, who was at one stage fourth, dropped down to sixth place. Milan Dontje performed well in his home race. The 22-year-old Dutchman improved to seventh from eleventh on the grid. He therefore delivered the best fight-back out of all the competitors. His compatriot Giedo van der Garde was the best guest driver with seventh place. The next event on the calendar is in three weeks at the Nürburgring.
