On the fifth race weekend of the Audi Sport TT Cup there was a dramatic shift in the Eifel: Mikel Azcona has taken the table lead from Philip Ellis after two victories.
Flawless performance

Mikel Azcona delivered a mistake-free performance at the Nürburgring, whilst Philip Ellis experienced his worst weekend of the season so far. The Spaniard clinched two pole positions and his fourth and fifth victories of the season, whereas Philip Ellis retired from the race on Saturday after a collision and drove to fifth from tenth on the grid on Sunday. His 33-point advantage changed to a three-point deficit. The title-fight has therefore heated up substantially with two events remaining.

New faces on the podium

Three different drivers in the Eifel lifted their first trophies in the Audi Sport TT Cup. After Fabian Vettel and the Australian Drew Ridge on Saturday, Kevin Arnold also stood on the podium for the first time on Sunday. Three guest drivers also thrilled the spectators and had to sign many autographs: motorcycle racer Marco Melandri started from third on the grid twice and finished tenth in the first race, Red Bull Air Race world champion Matthias Dolderer crossed the line in 14th and eleventh, and video blogger Felix von der Laden reached twelfth and tenth place.

The sprint track is 3.629 kilometres long
