Mettet is well known to EKS Audi Sport. Not only because the team has already competed there four times in the world championship, but because the circuit located 80 kilometres south of Brussels is visited frequently for testing. Mettet is the venue on 12 and 13 May.
Strong start,
bad ending

In 2017, the race weekend in Belgium started with a visit to the Audi factory in Brussels. A special day for Mattias Ekström and EKS Audi Sport at the facility where the Audi A1 sees the light of day – the car that forms basis of the Audi S1 EKS RX quattro. In the event, Ekström experienced a small setback. In an all-Scandinavian final, the successful Ekström had to settle for fourth place.

Race facts

The Circuit Jules Tacheny in Mettet is one of the very special tracks on the world championship calendar. The layout differs significantly from the other circuits – it is very technical, with some zig-zag turns and distinct differences in elevation.

And if that’s not enough, there is also a jump into a valley, which cannot be seen before the crest and demands as much courage as the first corner, in which many hopes of overtaking end up in the tyre wall.

The circuit in Mettet is 1.031 kilometres long and is 61 percent asphalt and 39 percent gravel.
