        Dubai – Building on the success of collecting five auto awards in 2010, Audi has once again received great feedback for its models from the Middle East region’s most popular automotive awards. For 2011 the brand with the four rings was now awarded seven awards by several of the leading regional motoring publications as well as the Middle East Motor Awards.

        First Audi overall victory in the Nürburgring 24 Hours and “Rocky” takes podium in DTM

        Ingolstadt/Nürburgring/Brands Hatch – Erratic weather, an extreme pace, tough competition, bitter setbacks and a great triumph: Audi emerged from a genuine emotional roller-coaster ride as victor of the Nürburgring 24 Hours. In the 40th running of the Eifel classic the brand recorded its first overall victory with the new Audi R8 LMS ultra. The German driver quartet Marc Basseng/Christopher Haase/Frank Stippler/Markus Winkelhock shared driving duties in the car entered by Audi Sport Team Phoenix. Christian Abt/Michael Ammermüller/Armin Hahne/Christian Mamerow from Team Mamerow Racing completed the one-two success.

        Audi 1-2-3-4 victory at Spa on premiere

        Audi delivered a thrilling premiere of two new vehicle models: Romain Dumas/Loïc Duval/Marc Gené won the Spa 6 Hours, the second round of the FIA World Endurance Championship WEC, in an open battle of the vehicle concepts. Crossing the finish line behind the Audi R18 ultra of the trio were last year’s Le Mans winners Marcel Fässler/André Lotterer/Benoît Tréluyer. They had dominated the race in the early phase with the Audi R18 e-tron quattro, the first diesel hybrid sports car in history. In the end, they had to admit defeat though. The other two Audi driver teams completed the perfect 1-2-3-4 victory of the brand.

The expert jury panel was won over by the premium quality and combination of design and technology of the A6 family, which includes the Audi A6 Sedan, the Audi A6 Avant and the Audi A6 allroad quattro. The model family built around the Audi A6 prevailed in a competition with more than 4.500 designs.

        AUDI AG acquires sports motorcycle manufacturer Ducati Motor Holding S.p.A.

        Ingolstadt/Bologna, April 18, 2012 – AUDI AG is acquiring from Investindustrial Group the tradition-steeped Italian sports motorcycle manufacturer Ducati Motor Holding S.p.A., which has its registered office in Bologna. The transaction will be completed as quickly as possible once authorized by the competition authorities. The Supervisory Boards of AUDI AG and Volkswagen AG approved the acquisition today in Hamburg. Ducati is known worldwide as a leading brand in motorcycle manufacture, with outstanding expertise in engine development and lightweight construction.

        The Audi Group in the fiscal year 2011: new records for deliveries, revenue and profit

        Ingolstadt – The Audi Group once again set records for deliveries, revenue and key earnings data in the fiscal year 2011. The brand with the four rings sold more than 1.3 million cars in the past year, at the same time increasing revenue to €44.1 billion. Operating profit for the Audi Group rose to over €5.3 billion in the past fiscal year. The operating return on sales climbed from 9.4 to 12.1 percent.

        Audi: strongest sales growth ever

        Ingolstadt – AUDI AG sold around 1,302,650 cars in 2011, beating its previous sales record from one year earlier by more than 210,200 units. The brand’s strong growth spanned all regions of the world: China became Audi’s biggest single market for the first time ever, with 313,036 vehicles delivered. In Europe, the Ingolstadt-based brand increased its unit sales by 12.1 percent to around 726,300 cars; it also achieved a growth rate well into double figures in the United States. Audi ended the past year with a new sales record in more than 50 markets.

        Audi sets all-time ME sales record in 2011

        Dubai – Audi today announced record Middle East sales of 7,865 vehicles sold in 2011, eclipsing 2010 by 26.8 percent. This makes Audi the fastest growing premium brand in the Middle East. With 40 percent of total Middle East sales (3,137 units) the UAE remains the largest market in the region for the German premium car manufacturer and continues to register strong growth. Sales increased by 42 percent (1,250 units) in Abu Dhabi and 39 percent in Dubai (1,887 units). The UAE is followed closely by KSA and Kuwait, where 1,522 (plus 35.7 percent) and 1,060 (plus 3.3 percent) vehicles were sold respectively. The newly opened Audi dealership in Iraq contributed to the result with 128 units.
