Audi has been producing the Audi Q3 and the Audi RS Q3 at the SEAT site in Martorell near Barcelona in Spain since the spring of 2011. The compact, sporty SUV is produced with state-of-the-art equipment. In the fall of 2014, the second-generation Audi Q3 went into series production; the new Audi RS Q3 followed at the beginning of 2015. A total of 114,198 vehicles came off the production line in 2017.
An entirely new body shop and a new assembly line were erected for the Audi Q3. The Audi Q3 production facility in Martorell is therefore among the most modern of its kind.
Martorell is the headquarters site of the Volkswagen brand SEAT. The Audi Q3 is produced there in three shifts and with maximum flexibility. Within the growth strategy of AUDI AG, production in Martorell is a key component of the overall production network.
Martorell is located 30 kilometres north-west of Barcelona in the Baix Llobregat district, in the autonomous region of Catalonia. It is almost 600 kilometres from Madrid and 1,450 kilometres from Ingolstadt.
The town at the confluence of the Llobregat and Anoia has around 28,000 inhabitants. The biggest employer is the car manufacturer SEAT, which has its group headquarters in Martorell.
