The Nürburgring is a classic venue on the DTM calendar. The popular international touring car racing series uses the slightly shorter sprint track.
HIGHLIGHT ON THE CALENDAR

The Nürburgring is Germany’s most traditional race track and a permanent fixture on the DTM calendar. The race on the sprint track attracts tens of thousands of spectators to the Eifel every year and, at the same time, is Audi Sport Team Phoenix’s home race. Ernst Moser’s team, which has produced the DTM Champion twice, is based just a few kilometres from the ‘Ring’ in Meuspath. A home victory has proved elusive so far for Audi Sport Team Phoenix.

Race facts

The DTM does not use the entire Grand Prix circuit, but instead the so-called ‘sprint track’. The track features a combination of fast and slow sections and penalises mistakes.

Two good overtaking places exist at the end of the start-finish straight and entering the chicane at the end of the back straight.
