In the fifth season, which is scheduled to start at the beginning of December, a new era begins in Formula E: Each driver will only use one car and the obligatory car change during the middle of the race will be no more. At the same time, the car has more power and accelerates even faster from 0 to 100 km/h. The fans around the globe can look forward to seeing even more of a spectacle.
For Audi, the race debut of the Audi e-tron FE05 requires a lot of hard work: For three days, the brand, together with the other manufacturers, visited the Monteblanco circuit in southern Spain, ticking off the first points of an extensive test programme.
“It was a great feeling to see our new car rolling out of the pits at 09:00 on Monday morning.”
The champion, Lucas di Grassi, was on call for the first test and covered many kilometres. “We did not have any major difficulties. This is the most important thing during a first roll-out. It’s good news for the whole team at the track and at Audi in Neuburg.”
“My first impression was overwhelming.”
Lucas di Grassi
Lucas di Grassi was impressed by the Audi e-tron FE05. “The car is a huge step forward in every respect,” says the reigning champion of the electric racing series. “We drove a lot, were able to focus on setup work and gathered plenty of data for the engineers. I feel that the first test was a resounding success – now I’m all the more excited about finally being able to drive the car on a city circuit.”
