The results continued to flow for the Audi Sport customer racing teams around the world during June, as the 2017 year reached its halfway mark. 

The Blancpain GT Series saw the brand of the four rings on the podium during June: Belgian Audi Club Team WRT led an Audi 1-2-3 in the Blancpain GT Series Sprint Cup at Zolder in Belgium. Three weeks later, Audi Sport Team WRT finished third on the podium in the six-hour Blancpain GT Series Endruance Cup in Le Castellet, France.

Audi R8 LMS Cup visited the Land of the Rising Sun with the Audi one-make cup making its debut appearance at the legendary Suzuka race track in Japan. With a win and a runner-up finish, Belgian Alessio Picariello strengthened his lead in the drivers’ standings. 

Victory at Suzuka: Marchy Lee and Shaun Thong from Audi Hong Kong won the opening heat of the Blancpain GT Series Asia race weekend at Suzuka. Two more podium results were achieved by fellow Audi drivers during the event. 


The second weekend of June saw podium sweeps being achieved in Germany and Australia: Ronny C’Rock from Land-Motorsport led the success in the DMV GTC at the Nürburgring, and Audi driver Steven McLaughlan was on top in the Australian GT Trophy Series at Winton.

More success for the Audi customers and the Audi R8 LMS: In Italy. Audi Sport Italia celebrated its best race weekend of the year with two runner-up results at Monza. Montaplast by Land-Motorsport finished on the podium in third in the VLN Endurance Championship at the Nürburgring in Germany. In Down Under, Matt Stoupas clinched three wins in the Victrian State Circuit Racing Championships at Winton. The K&K Racing Team collected trophies in the FIA CEZ at Most in the Czech Republic, and a hillclimb victory for Luis Monzón from Auto-Laca Competición in Lanzarote.


Centre stage in Ingolstadt: The Nürburgring 24 Hours race-winning Audi R8 LMS from Audi Sport Team Land was on display in the foyer at Audi Forum Ingolstadt. The GT3 race car was showcased in its original condition, with all of the signs of wear and dirt from 4,009 kilometres of racing having been fully preserved.

The Audi Sport customer racing teams running the Audi RS 3 LMS in TCR competition around the world collected a string of podium results during the sixth month of 2017. In Europe, the list of trophies included podium successes in the TCR International Series and the P9 Challenge at the Salzburging (A), the VLN Endurance Championship at the Nürburgring (D), TCR Italy at Misano and Monza (I), TCR Portugal and TCR Spain-Ibérico at Portimão (P), the FIA ETCC at Vila Real (P) and TCR Benelux at Zolder, and outside of Europe with a podium in the Super Taikyu at Suzuka (J).
