Jean-Karl Vernay in the Audi RS 3 LMS celebrated his second victory of the season at round four of the WTCR – FIA World Touring Car Cup.
Strong performance by Jean-Karl Vernay

The Audi Sport Leopard Lukoil Team and its two drivers produced excellent performances around the circuit through the dunes on the North Sea. Gordon Shedden finished fourth from third on the grid in the first race and was best Audi driver again with sixth in the second race. He finished fifth in the final race. Team mate Jean-Karl Vernay needed strong nerves: after taking fifth place in the first race and an engine change, he started the second race from the back of the grid. He stopped his car to avoid risking any damage, then in the third race started from pole position. The Frenchman converted the perfect starting position into his second victory of the season.

Three podium finishes in one week

Another Audi Sport driver stood on the podium in addition to Vernay. Frédéric Vervisch from Audi Sport Team Comtoyou claimed his third podium within a week after finishing in third place. He had already collected two trophies at the Nürburgring last weekend. In a month, the street circuit in Vila Real, Portugal hosts the fifth event of the race series on June 23–24.
