A premiere for the World Rallycross Championship. For the first time in the history of the series, an event will be taking place in the USA. The date is set for 29 and 30 September at the Circuit of The Americas.

The wait is finally over. Since the launch of the World Rallycross Championship in 2014, the series organisers have been aiming to host a round in the USA. Similar to Silverstone, a festival weekend is planned at COTA in Austin, which offers far more than just rallycross. The five-year contract provides spectators with many more spectacular races, as well as off-track events.

Race facts

The motorsport enthusiasm in Austin is great. MotoGP will also be racing on the circuit and Formula One will be there only three weeks after the World Rallycross Championship. The rallycross track will be located in the stadium area of the Formula One circuit, between turns 12 and 15.

Even though it’s the world championship premiere, COTA is already looking back on its history with rallycross. In 2014, the X-Games race was hosted there by the Global Rallycross Championship, which was won by three-time GRC champion Scott Speed.
