New work: Mobile, flexible, at your own pace

For us, new work means better normal. Here’s an overview of your advantages.

Hybrid model: Your work environment should be adapted to your life – not vice versa.
Hybrid working is the new work environment standard at Audi. For us, this means a flexible blend of mobile and face-to-face working.
- You can work mobile day-by-day, full-time, week-by-week, or over a more extended period.
- The only stipulations are that it’s compatible with your workload and that your manager agrees.
- In general, hybrid participation in meetings is acceptable.

Ingolstadt or Hamburg? Change of scenery made easy
Daniela Huber was born and raised in Ingolstadt. She is rooted in Bavaria, but she loves the far north just as much. Ingolstadt or Hamburg? Since there is the option of hybrid working at Audi, she no longer has to ask herself this question, because both are possible. She is currently living in the Hanseatic city for several weeks for the second time - in a sublet flat. "I really enjoy immersing myself in the vibrant metropolis of Hamburg and meeting new people - but also being able to quickly get to the Baltic Sea and thus visit another favourite place," says the Ingolstadt native. "And I'm just as much looking forward to coming home again."

Flexibility and hybrid working at Audi
Daniela Huber works in the area of employer branding communication. She is in close contact with her team. Even when she temporarily lives in Hamburg, she comes to the office as needed, for example, to supervise photo shoots or to participate in team events. "Such flexibility is not possible in every company," she says. "I appreciate that very much." Since she only changes her place of residence within Germany, there is no bureaucratic hassle for her from a professional point of view. The next stay in Hamburg is already being planned. "For me, this is just the optimal way of life. I get super many new impulses here - my job also benefits from that."

Work furniture: Audi provides a modern, ergonomic workplace – even at home.
Wherever you work, it’s important to us that you have the best technology and ergonomics.
- If you work remotely, you can take advantage of the IT and furniture packages.
- This removes the need for a personal workspace at the plant, and you’ll automatically join desk-sharing arrangements in our modern office environments.
- Would you rather have a personal workspace back after trying out the desk-sharing model? No problem, assuming your manager agrees.

Workation: Work at a location of your choice – inspiration included.
A change of location can have tremendously inspiring effects. We support this with our mobile work model.
- Within Germany, just discuss workation plans with your manager and team.
- You can work from abroad for up to 20 days a year – pending approval of your application.
- All you need on-site is a suitable workspace with Wi-Fi – and a good balance of work and vacation.

Workation in Helsinki
Working abroad for four weeks - André Kumar, Project Manager for SAP Business Intelligence projects at Audi, tried this out for the first time in 2022. "I am glad that Audi gives me the opportunity to work abroad temporarily. This way I could accompany my girlfriend on her assignment abroad and share this exciting experience with her." In August, the two travelled to the Finnish capital and set up a small flat booked through Airbnb. For Andre, it was first back to Germany, then in October he stayed for four weeks. "It was great to immerse myself in a completely different world after work and at the weekend." Together, he and his girlfriend visited the sights of the city, enjoyed the Nordic cuisine and met other expats.

Virtual tour of the co-working space
It had no effect on his work that Andre had temporarily moved his workplace to the north. "I mainly work from my home office," says the IT expert. "That works just as well from Helsinki as from Ingolstadt." The interest of others in his workation is great. "Colleagues have asked me many questions. Once I even took a virtual tour of the co-working space I use, on request," says Andre. He can well imagine that more Audians will take advantage of the offer to work abroad for a while in the future - as long as it is compatible with their own tasks and cooperation with their colleagues. All you have to do is coordinate your plans with your manager and team in good time and fill out the application form. About half a year's preparation time is optimal, says Andre, and advises all those interested to think in advance not only about accommodation, but also about a suitable workplace. For him and his girlfriend, Helsinki will probably not be the last Workation project. "The next destination can be a bit warmer," he says.
