Communications Trainee with Audi

During their hands-on-oriented training, communications trainees get to know the Audi way through a variety of means and meanwhile help shape it to the benefit of the company.

What you can expect

During their practice-oriented training, the communications trainee get to know Audi’s Way in a variety of ways and help to shape it to the benefit of the company. As a communications trainee, you will support those responsible in all areas of communication. You will be accountable for your project-related range of tasks, in which your conceptual and strategic thinking will be applied as well as your project management skills. This on-the-job training is supplemented with regular training programs in the areas of corporate communications, editorial work and key training such as an accompanying block training course at the Berlin School of Journalism. The training program prepares interns for a career as a press spokesperson, a public relations and communications specialist or as a PR consultant.

Project-related assignment areas

During your two-year training, as a communications trainee you will pass through eight stations within Audi Communications. You will be independently in charge of projects with predefined goals in your own area of responsibility. Assigned areas such as product, employee and online communication as well as external stations abroad or within the Group provide communications trainees with in-depth insights into communications work.

Editorial activities

Outside the stations, communications trainees write background stories, interviews and driving reports for the Audi blog, develop stories for the internal company newspaper or collaborate in the technology magazine Encounter. Independent moderating of an Audi.torium also rounds off the journalistic training of the interns.

Requirements

Are you passionate about communication, curious and creative, and are you driven by a spirit of discovery to take on exciting challenges and break new ground? Would you enjoy building a broad network within the company and prefer to work independently in cross-media teams? These are all characteristics that set communications trainees at Audi apart.

  • You have a Master degree in Communication Sciences, Journalism, Media Studies or a comparable course of training
  • You have applied this knowledge through editorial experience in the media industry
  • In-depth knowledge of English is extremely important, other language skills are desirable
  • Your qualifications profile for the communications traineeship is rounded out by your communication skills and team spirit, creativity and independence

A communications traineeship at Audi focuses the training on the individual skills and capabilities of the communications trainees. Through individual professional development programs and direct consultation with advisers, communications trainees are able to take responsibility for helping shape their own training.

Regular development meetings
During a one-on-one meeting, communications trainees and their adviser examine the intern’s personal development and their previous and future positions. This guarantees custom-tailored training.
Seminars/professional development opportunities
From in-house seminars to workshops with external speakers for interdisciplinary further training - communications trainees in Audi Communications benefit from valuable professional development opportunities that they can individually take advantage of.
Journalist’s school
During the entire traineeship, Audi offers an accompanying block training course at the Berlin Journalism School. Here, communications trainees deepen their journalistic skills and train their PR knowledge.
Volo-days
In addition, the traineeship offers the opportunity to gain an outlook from the company into another industry during so-called Volo-days. Visits to national editorial offices, important agencies or interesting companies are an integral part of the communications traineeship.
