What you can expect

Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University (DHBW) has been successfully educating students for more than 40 years. As it is an accredited university, your degree is guaranteed to be nationally and internationally recognized. With 34,000 students and appx. 10,000 cooperating companies throughout Germany, DHBW is among the largest universities in the state of Baden-Württemberg.

The course of study alternates between 12-week classroom programs at the respective campus of DHBW and 12-week practical sessions at our Neckarsulm and Ingolstadt sites. During the practical sessions, you will rotate through various departments of our company and familiarize yourself with AUDI AG. The program is tailored to each student; for instance, a practical session in a foreign country can be included. You will also complete projects independently. After three years, the course of study ends with a bachelor’s thesis. We prepare you for a seamless integration into the working world by assigning you a mentor and providing you with focused, cooperative management of your practical sessions.

  • High-school diploma with an average grade of “good” or better
  • Technical programs require proof of physics courses up to High-school diploma level

What else you need to know…

  • Audi dual students receive a monthly salary. This does not depend on phase of the program you are in – being the theoretical or practical phase. We support you financially during your studies at your university here in Germany, during a possible semester abroad or during the practical phases as well. The amount of the payments is staggered annually and is based on our apprentice remuneration.
  • Essentially, you have the opportunity to complete a semester of theory at one of the international locations of DHBW and to gain practical experience at an international Group location.
  • AUDI AG provides a hiring guarantee as part of the program. This means that upon successful completion of the program, we will welcome you with a permanent employment agreement.

FAQs

Application period
The application period starts July 22 and ends September 15 for the semester in october 2020.
How are the practical assignments designed?
The practical assignments take place exclusively in the lecture-free times. Within the scope of different projects in various departments of AUDI AG, you can put your gained theoretical knowledge from the university into practice. In addition to the semester break, you gain practical experience in a practical semester and during the preparation of the thesis.

During your studies, 12-week theoretical phases alternate at the campus of the Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University with 12-week practical phases at our Neckarsulm and Ingolstadt sites. During the practical phases, you will be assigned to various departments of our company and get to know AUDI AG. The pass-through plan is projected individually for all students. For example, a practical phase abroad can also be integrated. You also have the opportunity to carry out projects independently.
Which documents should include my application?
In addition to the completed online application, we need a proof of your employment history to facilitate the evaluation of your suitability and compatibility. These include e.g.  the High school diploma or the last two school transcripts of records. Also helpful is a cover letter and a CV.

Can I also pursue my degree program at another university with Audi?
The offered courses of study and university’s partnerships are continuously reviewed and aligned with the needs of AUDI AG. We would like to support our students as well as possible in their studies within the scope of solid cooperation. Unfortunately, studying at other universities is not possible.
How is Audi dual different from studying at the Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University (DHBW)?
The DHBW is a state university in Baden-Württemberg, which offers only dual study programs. Theory and practice phases usually change at a rate of three months. All students of DHBW need a company partner for admission to the university.

As part of Audi dual you regularly study at a technical college or university during the regular semester’s period. The theoretical lectures are not conveyed in a special dual lectures-style, but together with students without company partners. The practical phases take place in the lecture-free periods, during a practical semester and the final thesis.
Do I have to apply to the university?
No, if we settle a study agreement with you, we will also register you at our partner campus of the Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University. There we have already reserved seats in advance.
