Internship

Is it your aim to enrich your theoretical knowledge from your studies through a challenging practical experience? As part of a compulsory or voluntary internship in one of our diverse divisions, you will become part of the Audi family and work independently on projects in your department.

What you can expect

We offer a wide range of internships that let you make the most of your strengths and put your theoretical knowledge into practice. As a true member of the team, you will be integrated into all work processes. You will meanwhile get to know structures and processes and thus get a first-hand experience of the culture at Audi. You will be assisted personally during your entire internship – by your supervisor from the specialist department and by the HR Marketing team. You will have the opportunity to learn more about other areas of the company within the framework of a lecture series or perhaps even to report about your own internship at the “From interns to interns” event. Learn about Audi Production on a factory tour or take advantage of the opportunity to take part in special tours such as through the wind tunnel or crash hall.

Requirements

  • At least eight weeks and at most six months of available time
  • Initial practical experience is desired
  • Good academic performance
  • Ideally extra curricular activities

What else you need to know...

Who can apply for an internship?
We offer student internships exclusively to enrolled university and college students.
Do I have to be enrolled for an internship at Audi?

A valid matriculation certificate for the entire period of the internship is required for an internship at Audi.

An exception can be made for an internship to bridge the time between a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree, but this will be clarified individually with you.

Can students who are not German citizens also do an internship?

We offer internships to students of all nationalities. As part of the selection and recruitment process, we clarify the visa requirements for your nationality and support you in applying for a visa, if necessary.

If you are a non-German citizen, please submit a copy of your passport with your application and, if available, your residence permit including the additional page.

Can I do a voluntary internship?
An internship at Audi can be compulsory or voluntary, or a combination of both. The minimum duration of an internship of any kind is eight weeks.
Is it possible to start an internship on a different date from the one stated in the job announcement?

In the job announcement for internships, the first of the month or “starting immediately” is always mentioned as the start date. However, various starting dates are offered each month. The final term of your internship can be agreed upon in consultation with the department.

Please indicate in your cover letter or online questionnaire when you would be available for an internship.

Can I also do an internship abroad with Audi?
It is always possible to apply directly for an internship at one of our locations abroad. You can find all available addresses of our worldwide locations under Audi International.
Is it possible to combine an internship at Audi with a thesis at Audi?

It is not possible to write a graduation thesis on an Audi topic while performing an internship at Audi.

You are, however, welcome to apply for a thesis at Audi after your internship.

It is also possible to write your dissertation on a topic unrelated to Audi in parallel to your internship at Audi.

Can I apply for a job advertised as an internship in order to write a graduation thesis on this topic?

No, this is not possible because an internship has different content and aims than a thesis.

You can find information on graduation theses at Audi under the heading “Graduation thesis” at the following link:

How much does an internship pay?

All academic interns receive 1,345.89 euros gross/month.
