GT3: TWO CUSTOMER TEAMS CLIMB THE PODIUM

The Intercontinental GT Challenge season kicked off in Bathurst, Australia, with two podium places in the Pro-Am class for Audi Sport customer racing.

DISAPPOINTMENT FOR THE FAVOURITES

In the opening stages of the race, the Audi Sport drivers Christopher Haase/Christopher Mies/Markus Winkelhock and their team colleagues Kelvin van der Linde/Garth Tander/Frédéric Vervisch had all played a role in the battle for the lead, only to be hampered by several setbacks: Garth Tander touched another race car and lost six laps for repairs. Frédéric Vervisch’s accident ultimately threw the No. 22 Audi into retirement. The repairs for a steering problem cost the sister car eight laps. Christopher Haase/Christopher Mies/Markus Winkelhock fought their way up the order to finally take the flag in 14th place.
