FIA WTCR: FIRST EUROPEAN RACE

The Hungaroring near Budapest is the venue for the second race weekend of the WTCR – FIA World Touring Car Cup. After the season opener in Morocco, it is the first event of the new season in Europe.

THE TRACK IS REALLY TECHNICAL. THERE ARE A LOT OF LOW SPEED CORNERS THAT MAKE IT IMPORTANT TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT LINE WITH THE CORRECT SPEED AND APPROACH. IT’S ALSO NOT A FAST TRACK, SO IT’S DIFFICULT TO MAKE THE DIFFERENCE IN SOME AREAS.

Der Kurs vor den Toren der ungarischen Hauptstadt bietet eine Menge interessanter Kurvenkombinationen. Da die Strecke auch einige Bodenwellen hat, ist die Abstimmung der Autos eine Herausforderung für die Ingenieure. Vor der größten Herausforderung stehen aber die Fahrer: Der 4,381 Kilometer lange Hungaroring bietet kaum Überholmöglichkeiten, weshalb das Qualifying bei diesem Rennen besonders wichtig sein wird.
