FIA WTCR: BIG IN JAPAN

The outing of the WTCR – FIA World Touring Car Cup in the Land of the Rising Sun is one of the season’s highlights. The Suzuka Circuit enjoys a long tradition. From 1962, it was initially used as a test track, and in 1987, Suzuka hosted its first Formula One race. In addition, the Summer Endurance Race, Japan’s most famous long-distance race, has been held here 47 times.

RACE FACTS

RACE FACTS

The 5.807-kilometre Formula One circuit in Suzuka is one of the few racetracks in the world to feature a figure-of-8 layout. The 1.2-kilometre-long back straight transects the start-finish straight with a crossover bridge. Due to its corner combinations with extremely different radii, the racetrack is considered very demanding.
