JEAN-KARL VERNAY IN THIRD PLACE

At the end of the ninth racing event, Audi Sport driver Jean-Karl Vernay achieved the best result of the weekend. From third on the grid, the Frenchman from Leopard Racing Team Audi Sport defended his position against the attacks of his immediate rival. The four front runners pulled clear of the field by 18 seconds. However, overtaking in the balanced front of the field was impossible on the narrow city circuit. As a result, Vernay is returning with a trophy for the third time this year.

FIGHTBACK BY VERVISCH

Frédéric Vervisch delivered a strong fightback in the two first of the three sprint events. The Belgian from Comtoyou Team Audi Sport in race one improved from eleventh to seventh position and underlined his skills by setting the best lap time. In the second sprint race, the Audi Sport driver even stormed forwards from 18th to eighth place on the narrow 6.12-kilometre city circuit. His teammate, Niels Langeveld, posted 13th position in the third race as his best result.

LO BEST WILD-CARD DRIVER

Billy Lo in an Audi RS 3 LMS was the best of six wild-card drivers in Macau. As one of just two guest entrants he had managed the leap across the qualification hurdle in the first qualifying session and was even the only one to do so in the second session. The race driver from Macau achieved 23rd place in the first and 25th in the third race.
