Tough test in the desert

Audi is facing one of the greatest challenges in motorsport for the third time: The brand with the four rings is taking on the famous Dakar Rally with the Audi RS Q e-tron¹. The alternative drivetrain² concept of the Audi RS Q e-tron¹ combines an electric drivetrain² with a high-voltage battery and an energy converter². Audi was the first manufacturer to develop a car for the T1U class of the Dakar Rally’s regulations. The goal: The electrically² powered off-road car should take part and be competitive in one of the toughest motorsport events.

Team Audi Sport made a successful debut at the 2022 edition of the Dakar Rally and scored four stage victories and 14 stage podium results during the two-week event. The Audi RS Q e-tron¹ was significantly improved for the 2023 Dakar Rally. In addition to two stage wins and 14 daily results within the top three, the Audi RS Q e-tron¹ led the 2023 Dakar Rally for three days for the first time. Since then, Team Audi Sport has continued to optimize the vehicle for the 2024 Dakar Rally.
