Audi employee scholarship: Further education for the future at Audi

From autonomous driving to digital production: the automotive industry is undergoing its greatest transformation. Employees are playing a key role in driving this transformation forward. Audi qualifies them for this and supports them with an employee scholarship - flexible and needs-oriented.

Flexible and individual support

The Audi employee scholarship program is designed to support employees who are interested in advancing their education in the strategic fields of digitalization, technology & engineering, and cross-functional areas. At Audi, employees have the freedom and flexibility to pursue their education on a full-time, part-time, or as-needed basis while suspending their employment relationship. The scholarship covers accredited bachelor's and master's degree programs in Neckarsulm and Ingolstadt, as well as training for technicians in Neckarsulm. Additionally, the program includes coverage for semesters abroad.

Financial and individual support

Scholarship recipients are granted an annual allowance of 6,000 euros (for Bachelor and Technician programs) or 9,000 euros (for Master programs) for the standard duration of their studies. The support is provided every winter semester and extends beyond financial assistance. Audi provides personalized guidance to scholarship recipients, assisting them in planning and securing internships, work placements, and re-entry into the company. The program also includes informational events and interdisciplinary training, such as seminars focused on personal development.

Audi awards approximately 40 positions in Ingolstadt and 25 positions in Neckarsulm each year, based on the company's needs. In exchange, scholarship recipients commit to working at Audi for a minimum of three years after finishing their studies.

Impressions of scholarship holders

"I can continue to do my exciting job at Audi and still have the freedom to continue my education and focus on my studies."

Benedikt Eibel is also part of the employee scholarship: "I think it's great that studying can be combined so well with working at Audi." Benedikt has been studying business informatics full-time at Technischen Hochschule Ingolstadt (THI) since October 2022 and has also been taking part in the employee scholarship since then. At Audi, he works in IT during the lecture-free period in Ingolstadt - where, among other things, he is helping to restructure quality management within his department and developing the expansion of the dashboard for Audi subsidiaries. "During the lecture-free period, I work with a great and open team at Audi. The good thing is that I know months in advance when there is an exam at THI - and they only take place during the lecture period," says Benedikt.

"The employee scholarship is a valuable opportunity for me to pursue this master's degree. It allows me to develop professionally, meet people and get involved in interesting projects at Audi."

Mayra Schönwetter also participates in the employee scholarship: Mayra has been part of the Audi family since 2016. It all started when she participated in the dual study program at Audi, during which she completed six to eight-week internships in various departments at the Four Rings. "I'm happy to be working at Audi. The projects are exciting and the people are open to new ideas," says Mayra. That's why, thanks to the employee scholarship, she has been studying part-time for a master's degree in Innovation and Mobility Management at Technischen Hochschule Ingolstadt (THI) since October 2022. For Mayra, Mondays to Thursdays mean working at Audi in the Exterior Concept Design department, where she drives forward the integration of the One Box Lidar (key technology in the development of autonomous driving cars), for example, as well as conceptually designing the entire cell of the vehicle. On Fridays and Saturdays, Mayra attends lectures and studies.

"I particularly like the fact that the scholarship holders exchange ideas at joint seminars and we can therefore also look into other professional fields."

"I became aware of the employee scholarship via the Audi intranet at the time. The application process was very simple and I was subsequently able to discuss my ideas with the program managers directly on site in a very straightforward manner," says Lucas Wörner. He has been studying for a Masters of Engineering with a focus on electrical engineering at the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University - Center for Advanced Studies (DHBW CAS) since October 2021. He manages to work full time at Audi while studying at DHBW. At Audi, he supports the management team on a daily basis in achieving targets for quality, unit output, and the operation of the assembly learning stations with around 100 trainees. Lucas is also coordinating part of the move of Audi A8 assembly to the new production hall. "The flexible framework conditions at Audi allow me to combine work and study well. I really appreciate that," says Lucas.
