Fair employment and equal opportunity

Audi considers the individual needs of its employees. Self-directed work, personal development opportunities and a good work-life balance are the basis for this. Mutual acceptance and tolerance form the foundation for a respectful and collaborative work environment.
Diversity Day at Audi: Audi employees stand for more diversity

The Audi working world

Important aspects of the Audi working world include making work schedules and locations more flexible. We take into account the various phases of our employees’ lives and foster collaboration based on trust. Appreciation and respect are at the heart of the Audi leadership principles, which we first introduced in Germany in 2015 and then rolled out internationally.

Our corporate values responsibility, appreciation, integrity and openness are cornerstones of our actions.

Self-directed work

Audi lives hybrid working and relies on a culture characterised by trust and personal responsibility. To ensure the greatest possible flexibility for individual life phases, we offer various working time models.

Our employees are entitled to mobile working if it is compatible with their work tasks. The company does not stipulate the duration and location of mobile work; it only has to be agreed with the manager which allows for great flexibility.

The working environment of clocked employees in production is also being upgraded: with more flexible working models in shifts, new room concepts for a more pleasant stay and a variety of offers in catering.

Diversity & Inclusion

Diversity is an accelerator for transformation and an indicator of responsible corporate action. Different ways of thinking, skills, cultural imprints and competencies serve as the key to success. Diversity & Inclusion is therefore increasingly coming into focus at Audi and is part of the sustainability strategy.

Equal opportunity

We want to increase the proportion of women at all levels and boost cultural diversity – especially in management. Other issues we are focusing on include active generational management, promoting integration and the topic of sexual orientation and identity. The aim is to promote agility within the company as well as closeness to the customer. Diversity management has been handled since the start of 2017 by a separate Human Resources unit.

Recruiting and promoting women

To get girls and young women interested in technology and the Audi brand early on in their career orientation, we actively participate in campaigns such as Girls’ Day and the Women in Research camp.

We support talented and high-performing female employees on their career paths with the “Sie und Audi” program series. The programs include a mentoring program for women who show high potential as well as seminars and networking opportunities.
