Circular economy

Audi considers the environmental impacts of its products throughout their entire life cycle. It plans to return the raw materials used to the production process when its vehicles reach the end of their lives.

By ensuring that all the raw materials used throughout a vehicle’s life cycle flow back into the production process, material cycles are created. The development, production and sale of Audi products therefore use resources sparingly and reduce the environmental impacts along the entire value chain.

Recycling plays an important role in the circular economy by making it possible to reuse waste products as secondary raw materials. The overall ecological footprint of the vehicles – what we call the life cycle assessments – provides the basis for evaluating material cycles.
