Corporate citizenship – social responsibility

Corporate citizenship
Audi lives social responsibility and confronts current developments and challenges. The company promotes volunteer work and social projects, particularly at its production sites. Based on the
Support Guidelines for Corporate Citizenship, the focus is, among other things, on projects and activities that contribute to education and training, to social interaction, and to charitable and humanitarian causes. In view of the coronavirus pandemic, for example, Audi is providing aid to medical and social facilities at its production sites worldwide.
As part of the “Audi Volunteers” initiative, the company supports and motivates employees to get involved in volunteer work themselves – alone, in a team or across departments during company-wide project days like the Audi Volunteer Days at the Ingolstadt and Neckarsulm sites. As a result, Audi employees help strengthen social cohesion and improve the quality of life in their respective regions.

Work and family
Audi stands for a livable, child-friendly society. With customized childcare options, Audi helps employees balance their work and family lives more easily. In collaboration with professional cooperation partners, the company provides fixed and flexible places in regional kindergartens and daycare centers, for example. During school vacations, there are extensive childcare options for the children of employees at many locations. This guarantees fun vacations for the children and relaxing vacations for the parents.

Work and caregiving
People confronted with the issue of caregiving in their personal environment are usually not prepared for it; and if they have a career, they are suddenly doubly burdened. Audi does not abandon its employees in this difficult situation. At the German sites in Ingolstadt and Neckarsulm, for example, the company offers a wide range of free discussion and information formats as well as individual caregiving consultations in cooperation with experienced professionals at Audi BKK and famPLUS GmbH. For Audi, openly addressing the issue and supporting people who are balancing work and caregiving is an essential part of an open corporate culture. Audi also provides information and support for employees who want to learn more about this issue in cooperation with the German Alzheimer's Association (Deutsche Alzheimer Gesellschaft e.V.) as an official “Dementia Partner”.
Promotion of education and science
Cooperation with academic institutions promotes the mutual transfer of knowledge and also contributes to the company’s social responsibility. Audi works together with numerous national and international universities. For example, Audi supports employees who are involved in teaching and who thus provide students with an insight into business practices. Audi also supports research and teaching at universities through the foundation of professorships.
