From intern to expert – that sounds exciting. Can you tell us more about your career at Audi?
Sophia: My professional development at Audi has shaped me both professionally and personally. It all started with an internship during my master’s degree, where I gained my first insights into the world of Audi. I then wrote my master’s thesis, also at Audi, where I deepened my specialist knowledge. I was then able to work at various locations and in different teams as part of the Audi Global Graduate Program (AGGP). This experience enabled me to build a strong network and continuously expand my knowledge. Each station has supported me in my development and confirmed my desire to work for Audi in the long term.

You are currently working in Digital Lifecycle Management at Audi. What are your main responsibilities in this role?
Sophia: In my position, I am responsible for testing future software updates for customers worldwide. This enables us to ensure a positive update experience for customers and the continuous updating of their vehicles. At the moment, we are focusing on the “over-the-air (OTA) updates” function. This technology allows us to send software updates, bug fixes, and new features directly to vehicles without customers having to visit a workshop. This means that we are constantly working on optimizing the update process and ensuring quality.
What are you working towards specifically?
Sophia: A key objective of our work is to ensure that our customers receive a new OTA update at regular intervals so that their vehicles are always up-to-date with the latest software. In the long term, we want to create a seamless and personalized digital user experience that goes far beyond traditional software updates. The vehicles will not only be optimized but also equipped with new functions. In addition, the quality and security of each update is ensured through strict test phases in order to meet and maintain the highest standards.

How will over-the-air updates change the way vehicles are used in the future?
Sophia: In the future, OTA updates will not only improve the quality of vehicles but also optimize the driving experience by integrating new functions – no matter where the vehicle is located. Via Audi connect, we are creating a central interface to receive vehicle data in real time and take proactive maintenance measures. In this way, we extend the service life of the vehicles and offer customers improvements, which also increases customer satisfaction.
And how do you see your future at Audi?
Sophia: I can say with conviction that I have found my place at Audi. The company offers me the ideal space for my personal and professional development, and I am motivated to make a positive contribution. I particularly appreciate the women’s promotion program, which gives me the support I need for my ideas and projects.
Every now and then I enjoy spending a weekend in cities like Berlin or Munich, but to be honest I find Neckarsulm and Ingolstadt to be beautiful and very livable places. Not only have I found a home here, but I have also found the opportunity to work on pioneering technologies and sustainable solutions that drive automotive progress.
“With every software update, not only does our vehicle get better, but so does the overall driving experience for our customers.
