  • Audi achieves more TOP SAFETY PICK+ awards than any other premium brand in 2026

The renowned US Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has awarded the Audi A6 its highest safety rating, TOP SAFETY PICK+. With the addition of the A6, Audi now has seven models carrying the organization’s top distinction – more than any other premium brand in 2026. The award-winning models are the Audi A5, A6, Q5 SUV, Q5 Sportback, A6 Sportback e-tron, Q6 SUV e-tron, and Q6 Sportback e-tron.

IIHS evaluates vehicles in several categories, including front and side impact protection, pedestrian safety, and the effectiveness of front crash prevention systems. To earn the TOP SAFETY PICK+ designation, vehicles must achieve top ratings across all disciplines. The criteria became even more demanding in 2026, placing an even stronger emphasis on occupant protection and crash avoidance performance.

The Audi A6 secured the award following strong results in crashworthiness, crash avoidance, and lighting evaluations. The model received “Good” ratings in key crash tests and met the required standards for headlights and front crash prevention systems.
